When changing a flat tire some cars have a special "key" to losen a special bolt. Does a 1999 Jetta have this?

I know some care have a special bolt that you need a special %26quot;key%26quot; to use in conjuction with the lugwrench to remove it, whereas the other bolts are just plain vanilla ones that can be easily removed via the lugwrench. I recentely purchased a used 1999 Jetta. How can I tell if I need this special Key? If I do need it and don't have it where can I get one? When changing a flat tire some cars have a special %26quot;key%26quot; to losen a special bolt. Does a 1999 Jetta have this? For the most part, yes Jetta's have Locking Lugnut Keys. All you have to do is look at the lugnuts on the tires. If one is different than all the others, then Yes you need the Key. The key should be attached to you Tire Iron. It should be found in your trunk with your Jack. If you have no success finding the key, all you have to do is call your local VW dealer, ask for the Parts Department, and tell them that you need a LOCKING LUGNUT KEY FOR A 99 JETTA. good luckWhen changing a flat tire some cars have a special %26quot;key%26quot; to losen a special bolt. Does a 1999 Jetta have this?look at your lug nuts on your tires are all the same hexagonal shape? if so then you are fine. keyed lug nuts generally are round and have a cut-out on them that a key is inserted into to loosen or tighten them. When changing a flat tire some cars have a special %26quot;key%26quot; to losen a special bolt. Does a 1999 Jetta have this?FIRST YOU WOULD NEED TO LOOK AT YOUR LUGS AND SEE IF A SPECIAL KEY IS NEEDED.ONCE YOU MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHEATHER OR NOT AKEY IS NEEDED,YOU GO FROM THERE.IF A KEY IS NEEDED,THEN I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO GO TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER FOR A MATCH.YOU CAN ALSO GO TO AUTOZONE OR PEPBOYS,AND ASK FOR HELP.

Change a tire?

Hi I was on a trip in Borego springs CA this past weeked 110 degrees and i got a flat tire in the middle of the desart not the place to be with temps so high anny ways

I get out to change the tire and gess what all the Lug nuts are so dam tight i cant remove a single one its so hot i cant even hold the lugwrench . With no cell phone signal MILESS from anny wear i wait for a car to pass buy takes just over two hours for some one to pass buy they give me a ride to the next town i find a tow truck guy comes out to change it for me well he cant remove them we have to tow it back to his shop to use impact gun to remove them...

how is a regualr person to change tires onthere own when there so dam tight ?

do i have to carry an air compresser with me?

All 4 tires were super tight

i have a 2000 ford explorer.Change a tire?Bring a breaker bar or have a pipe to extend the tire iron so you don't need to use as much force. Most likely the lugs were overtightened at some point, at a shop etc, many 'cheap' shops don't care about overtightened lugs/bolts etc.Change a tire?in a case like that, there isnt much you could do... it sounds like the last person who rotated your tires or put your wheels on, used an impact wrench and tighted the lugnuts until they would tighten no more... he should have tighten them and torqued them to manufacturer recommendations... which wouldnt have made them so darn hard to remove...Change a tire?Have your tires rotated every 6000 miles. Make sure the shop uses a torque wrench to tighten them to spec (usually about 90 - 100 ft.lbs) that way you can get them off if this ever happens again.Change a tire?I feel your pain , I am sorry for that however who ever put them on went way beyond the specs on lug nuts 150lbs should be all it needs, If I were you stop by the parts place and get a 4 way lug wrench and that should solve any problem that you should ever haveChange a tire? All cars have a torque specification for lug nuts. yours were obviously to tight. You can buy torque sticks so your lug nuts are at the right specification or a torque wrench. People usually tighten lug nuts more then they have to because they freak out and think its not tight enough and their wheels are going to fall off. But go to an auto zone get a HAYNES MANUEL for your year make and modle and it'll tell you the torque specification for the lug nuts in there. Not many people take the time to do all this but if you don't want any more incidents then this may be a good idea.Change a tire?for about 60 bucks, you can get a 6v impact wrench to loosen the lugs with the push of the trigger, plugs in your cigarette lighter, I keep a set of plugs with an installation tool for holes, and a 20.00 compressor, got me out of more than one jam.Change a tire? Now that you have your flat fixed and I would hope you had the other nuts loosened get a can of never seize it comes in a can with a dipstick like paint brush. Re-loosen your lug nuts and on the studs apply a little never seize to each stud and then re-tighten all the lug nuts. Next time you have a flat a good lug wrench will break all the nuts loose without getting a hernia.Change a tire?Like almost every nut or bolt on a vehicle, there are torque specs for lug nuts. If you can prove that the last guy who tightened yours didn't follow them, give him the tow truck bill. .

I carry a half inch drive socket, and a long %26quot;breaker bar%26quot; with me. I can stand on the handle if I need too. I haven't seen a lug nut yet that can resist my lard. The lug wrenches that come with cars are usually junk.

  • Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer?

    stock, they were R18 225. i changed them to R18 245.

If my speedometer says 60, how fast do u think im going w the new tires?Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer? You need to provide the profile size.

    Use the calculator at:

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculaChanged the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer? You forgot something! The middle number will tell us the answer. Is it 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 or 70? Even an old woman like me knows there is a middle number.Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer?i need to know the sidewall off the tire. your tire will say stock 225/?/18 and new will be 245/?/18.Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer?I'd say 60 is still just about 60. The change from 225 to 245 is a change in tire width, not diameter. Speedo readings won't be affected.Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer?easist way to be sure, is just try it out.

Either go through a measured mile, have someone pace you, or get a gps/nav-they all usually have speedometer function that is pretty accurate (especially at higher speeds)Changed the tires on my car? how much of a difference will it make on my speedometer?it might not or it might i went from r15 265 to a r16 44x19.50 and it was only 5 mph off so it just depends take it some engine electronics place and have them set it correctly

Is it possible to maintain a car by yourself without having to take it to a repair shop or dealership?

I would like to do this so that I can save money and learn more about my car. I already know the basics such as checking and adding fluid, filter replacements, oil changes, tire rotations, etc..

I know that there are certain things that a repair shop or dealership is best left to handle, such as engine belts. But other than the very complicated stuff like engine belts and the electronic system, is it possible to learn how to maintain the car by myself and save myself a lot of money? Is it possible to maintain a car by yourself without having to take it to a repair shop or dealership?Sure. Why not? You should spend as much time with %26quot;professional%26quot; mechanics as I have to figure out that there is nothing - I mean NOTHING at all - they do anybody with at lease marginal integence could. They do have tools though...Is it possible to maintain a car by yourself without having to take it to a repair shop or dealership?Maintian? yes

Do ALL repairs? Not really with newer vehicles.

And where did you get the notion that belts were difficult to change? Is it possible to maintain a car by yourself without having to take it to a repair shop or dealership? As long as you are mechanically inclined the answer is absolutely. Buy a manual for your car and follow it. I started out doing this and after a while you can figure things out on your own. I now work as a certified mechanic in Michigan. Is it possible to maintain a car by yourself without having to take it to a repair shop or dealership?there aren't too many things on these new cars that backyard mechanics can do anymore, it takes special tools and gauges to be able to work on them and diagnose the problems, you should be able to change the serpentine belt with not too many problems as actually those are easier to change than the old belts on the 60's cars, the only problem is sometimes there is not a lot of room to work and I have had to take a motor mount off to get a new belt on a grand am.

How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?

I have taken off the lug nuts and jacked the car off the ground and I still cannot get that wheel to come off. its like its rusted on somehow. How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?this could be dangersou.

put it back together and go to a tire changing place.

or have someone come to your home.

do not injure yourselfHow do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?kick it, probably the aluminum rims are stuck on the boltsHow do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?Hit the back of the rim with a soft faced sledge hammer, it will take a lot of force. The mag rim has reacted with the stell hub and caused the materials to almost fuse together due to corrosion. Careful not to damage the rim.How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?Kick the tire with the bottom of the foor.. Don't knock the car over while it is on the jack. Set the vehicle on concrete blocks. Leaving the truck on the jack is an accident waiting to happenHow do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango? If you have a jack stand, put it under the truck to support the axle. You are going to need to break the corrosion seal, and the easiest way to do that is with force. Mule kick the rim (kick it while facing away from the vehicle) or use a block of wood to protect the rim and a large hammer to whack it!

If you do not have a jack stand, you may want to lower the jack down until the tire is touching the ground, and then do the kick or hammer tricks! How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango? You need to support the rear of the truck with a jack stand and keep some pressure with the jack also.

Smack the side of the tire with a bat or a small sledge hammer.

The aluminum rim oxodises itself to the steel rotor over time, and it gets sticky.

Get some ANTI_SIZE and spread on over the touching parts, also the lug nots - makes it easier next time. How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?left the car up with a lefter and check why it is not coming off.How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango? It isn't unusual for aluminum wheels to stick to the hub and not want to come off. I use a heavy dead blow mallet on the back side to strike the rim and loosen it. But, I am in a shop with the vehicle on a lift.

At home, secure the vehicle with a jack stand andleave one or two lug nuts loosely on the studs, so the wheel won't fly off and cause injury and strike the back side with the flat of your foot (with boots or good shoes on) or another non-marring device. Hammers can crack the rim.

Do not get under the vehicle if only supported by a jack. How do you change a rear tire on a Dodge Darango?sometimes the wheels will stick on those, place a jack stand in under it and let the vehicle rest on the stand, and then, kick the wheel to one side it will come off,the can be really stubborn at times though, but it will come off, good luck with it.

How Do I Change The Oil In My Car???

What am I looking for underneath the vehicle in order to change the oil and filter out? I'm tired of just pouring a bottle of oil into the engine under the hood and not actually changing it from the bottom of the car!!!!!! What knobs or whatever do I look for, how is this done???? I know that is a simple thing but I dont know how and I'm sure that its someone out there who does, I want to be one of those who does!!!!!!!!!!!How Do I Change The Oil In My Car???It's good that you're taking a pro-active approach to maintaining your car. You should first start by grabbing a repair manual, like Hayne's or Chilton's. I prefer Hayne's, but they're both good and cheap. It'll detail every procedure in there, from checking tire pressure to overhauling your engine. It will surely have the best description of changing your oil as well.

When you go underneathe of your car, on the bottom of the engine is the oil pan. As other people mentioned, it has a bolt in it that's the plug. Make sure you have a pan out, remove the plug and let the oil drain. I prefer to do this when the oil is cooled off though, as A) it won't burn you and B) it's all settled back into the oil pan insead of still on the engine parts themselves.

Some cars have the filters hanging off of the bottom or out of the side. My Ford truck hangs out the driver side of the engine, my old Chevy car has is in the back of the engine and hanging down on the driver side and my Nissan car has it mounted between the firewall (wall between engine and interior) and the engine, facing the back of the car. It take some manuevering, but once I did it the first time, it becomes cake. Just be ready, depending on how it's oriented, it may spill some oil.

Your oil filter should come off by hand, although it may need some coaxing with an oil filter wrench ($5). Make sure that when you put it back on, you A) lubricate the rubber gasket with some oil and B) tighten it only by hand...this is not a thread you want to strip. Ditto with the oil plug. Turn it hand tight, and then 1/4 past that with the wrench.

Fill your car's engine up with the proper amount of oil. Note the date and the mileage, and repeat the procedure in 3,000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. If you keep solid documentation of all repairs, and especially oil changes, the added confidence that you maintained the car well may help out when it comes time to sell your car.

Try to change your oil filter everytime, and at every fourth oil change, swap out your old air filter as well.

Oh, and for what it's worth. Yes, sometimes the quick change places are helpful, however, in my experience, it becomes more expensive and even chance-ey. One time my brother took his truck there, and through some weird miscommunication, they ended up only putting in 2 quarts of oil. It was almost too late when we realized it. Also, they'll try and push the synthetics on you...there's no need for them in a lot of cases, but that's your call. Just be aware that they're pricier. How Do I Change The Oil In My Car???I like to take my car to a Jiffy Lube every so often, because they not only change the oil, but they lubricate the chassis. If you've ever heard the car squeak while driving that is the reason. About every 4th oil change I get it done by them.

Under the car at the oil pan there is a drain plug you have to loosen that. Make sure you have a pan to capture the old oil as it is an environmental hazard. Once all the old oil is drained replace the oil filter. It is usually threaded on on clicks on depending on the make and model of car. After all the oil is drained put the plug back in the pan make sure the threading and gasket are in good condition so they don't leak. Replace with new oil either synthetic or regular(use 5w-30) use only the amount the car manual call for. If they drain plug pops out and the car runs without oil you can severely damage the engine so be careful. How Do I Change The Oil In My Car???Not as %26quot;simple%26quot; as it sounds.

I used to change my oil all the time. But now, the automobile manufacturers make it very difficult to reach the filter. So now I take it to a quick oil change place and let someone else do it.

And remember, you should change the filter each time, not just the oil. There is one quart of oil in your filter, and if you leave the old one, then you contaminate the new oil.

If you don't get the filter back on correctly, you can get leaks and more troubles. How Do I Change The Oil In My Car???Based on what you wrote, you had better just take your car to one of those Jiffy lube places and have them change your oil.

If you've just been dumping IN oil without draining OUT the old and replacing the filter your car isn't going to last much longer without a major problem.

It needs to be changed (depending on driving habits) every 2500-3500 miles you drive.

Should the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?

Should your state Department of Motor Vehicles make it harder to get a Class D (passenger car) drivers license? Should drivers have to take a longer road test that would better demonstrate their driving skill? Should drivers have to show they know how to do basic car repairs (changing a tire, checking the oil, dealing with an overheated radiator ect) before they get a license? Would our roads be safer if it was harder to get a drivers license?Should the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license? This debate has been going on for years. To many people take driving for granted.I worked for the biggest driving school in Canada, A lof teen agers. said they were taking lessons to get a licence faster. or parents would not sign for them.. I heard from a student she had to pull over and change a tire on the test.in her country. I think medical exams need to be included also retests every 5 years.. Basic repairs Good idea people with diabilitys would objectShould the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?I think the roads would be safer if they raised the driving age to 20, young people, teenagers, don't have the mental ability and the sense of danger to be out on the roadways, a vehicle is a lethal weapon in the hands of the wrong people, plus they think that drinking and driving is something they can handle. I think its how one handles the driving of the vehicle, not the mechanics that would make driving safer.Should the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?I believe there should be an extensive written exam which would include questions regarding courtesy and patience while driving. I drive about 75,000 miles each year as a salesman. The closer I get to major metropolitan areas, the more dangerous it becomes. It is not just the volume of traffic, it the fact that people living in those areas are not as tolerant, patient, or simply courteous enough. The worst drivers I find on our highways are young women who seem to believe that driving is simply something they are doing while they attend to , what they believe to be more important things, such as putting on make-up, lighting a cigarette, while talking on the cell phone. All the while they are steering with their knee and changing lanes at the same time. They are by far the most dangerous on the road. Yes, there should be much more extensive testing and jail time for those convicted of driving like those above. I do not believe that we should expect drivers to know how to make basic repairs, but they need to learn how to more safely deal with emergencies created by auto failures.Should the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?absolutely. i'm all for driving restrictions. far, far too many cars on the road anyway, and a good number of those drivers have no business behind the wheel.

so yes, raise min age to 21. and no licenses for those over sixty. and immediate suspension for cell phone use while driving. legally blind but driving? come on now, really!Should the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?THEY WILL STILL DRIVE WITHOUT A LICENSEShould the DMV make it harder to get a drivers license?I am guessing you already think this is a good idea, but absolutely. I know it is a different economy and what not and a different culture but if I remember right in Germany they have to spend about $3000 to get a drivers license for lessons, practice and testing. Of course in the German culture driving is an activity...they don't eat or talk on cell phones while driving and when they are going slow they get in the right hand lane. Unfortunatly, the US does not have the public transportation network that Europe does and so we do need to drive more than they do. So that price tag may not work...but I think they DMV should toughen up the tests...I hate driving with some of the selfish prick drivers who need to learn some defensive driving.

  • How much does it cost to replace the thing on my car that holds the tire on?

I recently had a flat tire when I went to change it one of the four bolts or screws broke off. The actual metal which the bolt connects to broke. How much does it cost to replace that on a compact car such as a nissan sentra. And might sound crazy but is it possible to get by with out one in the mean time? I mean there are 3 other tight bolts holding the tire on?How much does it cost to replace the thing on my car that holds the tire on?You will be OK for a little while if all the other lugnuts are tight enough, but you will not pass inspection and you really shouldnt drive too much on it. On a lot of cars this is a very easy fix and you can do it yourself since you know how to take the wheel off. Take the wheel and look at the broken stud. Look behind it to see if there is enough room for you to pull it out the back and fit a new one in the hole. You may be able to rotate the wheel hub to get the stud to one open spot where you have enough clearance. Then just bang the broken stud out with a hammer. Hit the broken end a few times and as long as there is enough clearance it will come flying out the back. Then just slide a new stud in from the back. It will not go in all the way at first but that is OK. Just put the wheel back on and when you tighten it the stud will get pulled into place. If there is not enough clearance to get the stud out you will need to take more of the brake assemble apart to fit in a new stud. You may want to take it to a shop at that point if you dont know much about cars. It shouldnt cost you too much money. For the stud itself just go to any auto parts store and tell them you need a wheel stud for your car. It should only cost $1 - $2. But that was my 10 points hahahahHow much does it cost to replace the thing on my car that holds the tire on?i think you would be reffering to the lug nut. not screws.lug nuts hold the wheel and tire assembly on the vehicle. The inner face of the lug nut us tapered to help center the wheel on the hub. Lug studs re the special studs that accept the lug nuts. The studs are pressed through the back of the hub or axle flange. Normally, the lug nuts and studs have right hand threads { turn clockwise to tighten} these lug nuts are what screw on to the lug bolt. And the tires should have 5 lug bolts. it is dangerous to drive with one lug bolt missing because the that is what secures the hub and other parts of assembly..How much does it cost to replace the thing on my car that holds the tire on?Depending on what size the rotor or drum is it should be like 80 bucks replacing isn't hard to do and you'd be paying the technician a hours worth of work, but so it rounds around 120 ish to 180, but no it's not safe get it fixed but the rotor or drum have it checked out.. How can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?

I just bought a car (Oldsmobile Aurora '01) and I got a flat! The key to the spare that's in the trunk is nowhere to be found. Today is Sunday and the dealership where i GOT THE CAR IS CLOSED. It's a scummy non-reputable dealer, so I don't really plan on getting to far with them anyway. Is there any way to buy a key, or get the spare out of trunk without a key?How can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?A GM new-car dealer may be able to help you. Your car shared platforms with the Buick Rivera, if that helps. Maybe they both have locking spare tire storage, or use a similar design or something.

If they can't help you, a good locksmith may be able to make a key or find some other solution. How can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?Only if you can remove rear seat cushion and backrest! Once you have them out, you can possibly push the %26quot;divider%26quot; (which is just a thick piece of cardboard)-- out of the way, and you can then see back to trunk latch-- There are a couple bolts that you can screw out, -- may need a real long bunch of socket extensions to reach from seat area to trunk - when these bolts removed trunk with lock (still locked)_ and all will go up with trunklid! I haven't %26quot;broken in%26quot; to one this new, - so I don't know if there is a %26quot;slot%26quot; that something can be put in to release it or not!

Just what made tire go flat? An alternative would be a can of %26quot;fix a flat%26quot;, - or maybe you colld pump it up with one of the little %26quot;portable compressors%26quot; that plug into cigarette lighter socket! Possibly you can find somebody with one (if you don't have one already)--- just pump it up and see how long it takes to go back down-- If it takes 10 minurtes to get really flat, - just stop every 5 and pump it up till you can get somewhere to have tire fixed! If it is blown out, - of course there is no hope, -- but if it is just a puncture, -- it will have a %26quot;time lag%26quot; before air drops low enough to harm tire while driving! If it has a puncture, - and you can hear, or see it, -- you might try putting a nail, or %26quot;self tapping%26quot; screw in hole (block off as much of leak as possible), - this will make leak slower and increase %26quot;time before flat%26quot;.

If you can get by with this and have it repaired or replaced somewhere, - it allows you more time to hunt for lost key%26quot;, - or to get rear seat out and do whatever you have to to get it open! Now here is another alternative, -- once you get trunk open and play with mechanism till it releases, -- you can remove the lock. It is just held in with a %26quot;horseshoe%26quot; shaped flat spring clip! Once clip is removed the lock should fall free (unless it has a connector link pinned or held by a nut)! Now you have a trunklid that you can open %26quot;with a long screwdriver),-you can take lock to a locksmith and have a key made to fit it (or wait till you find key!) You can buy a new lock, or possibly find a used one with key that works (salvage yard)!- In fact you can check while there and see if you can find a %26quot;electric%26quot; trunk release, and install it (just fits in area and allows key or electric to work!) If you put it in and run a wire under the carpet to front, - you can install a switch under dash somewhere-- where it is hard to see, - (or just leave end bare, and tuck out of sight) -- just apply power to that wire, and trunk will release! --- No key needed! Now you have two ways to get in trunk if you need to!

Last comment, - you remove rear seat by getting in rear (behind front seat) on floor - facing rear of car, put knees against front of bottom cushion, - and push to rear of vehicle, - -- while also pushing down on cushion with hands (usually best if you are in middle and make pressures equal on both sides), -- now still holding cushion ( foreward with your knees), - lift cushion upwards at front, -- if the %26quot;clips underneath%26quot; ar unhooked, - it is now easily removed form car, -- if not you will need to experiment tili you get the %26quot;combination right! ... Rear cushion (backerest) is held in place at bottom woth a couple long %26quot;u%26quot; shaped heavy wire %26quot;bails%26quot; which are used to bolt it to floor, remove these bolts, - and lift upward slghtly at bottom, and then lift! When backrest gets to about a inch to an inch and a half, - the %26quot;tabs at top will lift out of their slots, and the cushion can be removed from car too, -- now all that is left is the cardboard divider, -- (and %26quot;web%26quot; in shape of an %26quot;X%26quot;--for %26quot;structural sterngth%26quot;!) This is going to be probably too small to crawl through, (unless ou are a rereally small person)-- so you will have to do everything %26quot;long distance%26quot;! If possible I would try to find somebody with same vintage car, - and look inside the trunk and see how everything works -- as you will be laying on your side on floor, - looking into trunk (praboaly with a flashlight),-- and it is easier to see what has to be done before you start job, -- you will get job done quicker, (and be uncomfortable a shorter periond of time!

If you take to a dealer, probably they will drill the lock out, - and sell you a new one, as it is less labor to do it this way than to work through rear of car to release! How can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?ya call a lock smith its sunday slip 20 and a case of bearHow can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?Mac, Snap On, Matco, Cornwell, all these companies make master key sets for rims. You could probably contact one of them to get the right key.How can I change a flat tire if the key to the spare is lost?Assuming that you are talking about the trunk key being lost go to any gm dealer with your registration and driver license they usually have a key on hand or may have to order one in. Otherwise call a lock smith but it will not be cheap.

What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?

    I'm ordering one, but it won't be here till next month. In case of emergency, what's the best advice here? like.. will a full insurance coverage tow it? or can i take the wheel or whatever it is off the car and take it to a shop and change tire and put it back on? (of course get someone who know how to). ??? i know this made sounds stupid but just wondering..What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?You have a lot of options like;

    1. bring a foot pump with you in case of a flat tire, pump enough air to your tire so that you can reach a nearest vulcanizing shop.

    2. while waiting for your new tire, buy a temporary tire that you can use as a temporary spare tire.

    3. borrow from some one while waiting for your new tire

    4. or if you dont like doing the above mentioned solutions, suffer the consequence of everytime you encounter a flat tire, you have to remove it and bring it nearest vulcanizing shop.

Hope everything help! What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?fixaflat comes in a can.. spray it on and let it dryWhat should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?have it towed home. What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?I personally would have my passenger hold the flat wheel up and drive to a tire store and have it patchedWhat should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel? It depends on what the problem is, in other words why the tire went flat.

Most often if it is a simple puncture like a nail, then a neighborhood gas station can often repair it cheaply.

Call a couple of local service stations or tire shops, then bring the tire there.

Good luck! What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?Go to your local junkyard and buy a spare. What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?Take the wheel off, take it to a shop, let them fix what is wrong or buy a spare tire from them, go back to the car, put wheel back on, drive home. What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?tow it on the nearest shop and have a fix your tire in just a second. What should I do if my tire got flatted and no spare wheel?I would call AAA.

this is the biz idea that i have that would cater to ladies that own a car but want to become educated on maintaince issues

Such as tire changing, checking all fluids, what to do if your car overheats, change bulbs, fuses, any electrical problems, how to jumpstart your car battery if it fails, and more safety maintaince tips so you will not be stranded at a mechanics hands.

Wouldnt you like to know all the tricks that the rip off mechanics apply?

Dont get taken just because your a lady!

I, fortunately, have a father who used to be a mechanic, and now works as a truck instector for the DMV. I know a little more than most girls my age (17 yo), which still isn't a lot. I can check my fluids, replace headlights/assemblies, change battery, check my tires, etc. Nothing really in depth. I'd appreciate a class like that, personally.

One of my friends didn't even know that you had to refill your wiper fluid! Not just girls, but any new drivers should have this sort of education. Maybe run a class for teens. It would be a good idea to target not only women, but newly licensed drivers, who aren't too familiar with cars just yet.Ladies do you own a car and think this is a good idea?I think that's a great idea, and I think a lot of women would come to you.Ladies do you own a car and think this is a good idea? That's a really good idea. How often do i do Car Maintance?

I want to keep my car up in maintance but how often do i get an:

    Oil change

    tire rotated

    new brakes

    fluids changed

    Transmission check or drained

    Ect.

you kinda get the point can you help me please. How often do i do Car Maintance? When to change oil? You can not look at oil and determine either condition unless there is particulate matter or sludge present. And unless oil is subjected to extremely high temps and breaks down, the oil itself doesn’t really “go bad”. But the additive package does “go away” over time. So the correct interval is a guess. A rule of thumb is the greater percentage of “severe” conditions, the shorter the interval between changes. What’s severe? Heat of summer, very cold temps, stop/go driving, high engine loads; which is about everyone. What’s not severe? A vehicle that runs at near constant load for extended periods of time without stopping and starting. So you’ve got to decide.

My advice? Change oil and filter between 3,000 and 5,000 miles under really severe conditions and 5 – 7,500 if the engine’s being babied.

Tiore rotation: Every 10-15,000 miles or sooner if all tires are NOT wearing the same.

Brake service: As required. Often depends on how you drive.

Fluids: I'm not a big fan of changing fluids. Often more harm is done than good. Keep them all at the level specified and you should be OK. Engine coolant is the excpetion where 24 months is generally appropriate.

Transmission: Check the level evey month or two, but I wouldn't change it as often as some OEMs recommend for the reason cited above. A good automatic transmisson should not require the fluid to be changed more often than 100,000 miles unless there's indications of a problem with the fluid.. But like I say, that's my personnel opinion. How often do i do Car Maintance?wel oil change is every 3000 to 4000 miles tires rotated every 20000 miles brakes 40k to 50k coolant flushed every 30k and trans fluid check every 1000 miles changed at 50kHow often do i do Car Maintance? It depends on the type of car you have and the year. For example, some of new cars say oil changed only every 3500-3750 miles. I would suggest looking in your owner's manual-it gives a schedule for all the stuff.

If you don't have one, go to the website of your car and it should offer maintenance tips for year and type of car.How often do i do Car Maintance? The Oil change can be done every 6,000 to 9,000 miles depend on the size of the car and the type of car and how often you use the car. you can check the from your local Tyre shop they should advice and it's normally a free services. New brakes can go up 10,000 miles depending if the car is auto or manual. the rest could go up to three or more years depending on usageHow often do i do Car Maintance? No Problem, Just do as the owners manual says,Brakes should last 40 to50 thousand miles if you don't ride them, Check transmission every other oil change, Rotate tires ever other oil change and you be OKHow often do i do Car Maintance?Ok, as I learned it it's :

Oil change every 3 months or 3,000 miles.

Tires rotated every other oil change.

Brakes checked each time you rotate tires because different people and different vehicles wear out brakes at different times. (many shops will check this for free by the way)

Transmissions should be flushed every 30,000 miles.

Brake fluid changed every 12,000 miles or at least once a year.

Coolant depends on what kind you have. If you have the old fashioned green stuff you need to flush it every 30,000 miles refilling it with a 50/50 mix of coolant and purified water. If you have the new Dexcool (orange) stuff you should flush it every 70,000 miles with a 50/50 mix of coolant and purified water. How often do i do Car Maintance?oil change/tire rotation same time do it every 7500 miles all multipurpose oils are good for 7500 miles,do your brakes every 2 years brakes get very hot so they can only with stand the heat for so long then theyll go bad, transmission, power steering fluid same type do every 30,000 miles.coolant flush once a year.put fuel cleaner in your tank every 6 mnonthHow often do i do Car Maintance?Well oil changes should be done at about every 3 months or 3000 miles. This is a basic rule of thumb as some oils are still affective up to 5000 miles or in a very few instances, 7500 miles. Tires, I think I would go every other oil change at 6000 miles. Brakes, I usually change them as soon as I start hearing the front brakes make noise and check the rear at the same time. Transmission can be checked at every oil change and changed every year. This is a very basic and general information. It would be best advised to talk with a trusted mechanic or dealer service writer. How often do i do Car Maintance?cranknban has about the best answer of al

How to buy used car tires?

I need to change all 4 tires for my car. They are size 14%26quot;. Since my car is a 1999 camry, I decided to buy used ones. Where should I buy them? I am thinking about %26quot;junk yard%26quot;s. .. By the way, I want to mount the tires myself. Is it very chanlleging for a woman?

Thanks for any advice!!How to buy used car tires?big news story on tv just a few weeks ago, about tires being sold that ae way too old to be safe, and people are getting killed when the tires fail.

    you can google %26quot;old tires being sold as new%26quot;

this concerned me and is important. How to buy used car tires?Thank you for choosing my answer as %26quot;best%26quot; !

I think you made a Great choice by buying your tires at Costco!

    Very smart!

How to buy used car tires? No it is not too challenging for a woman. First buy a Coates Tire Mounting Machine. These run about $2,500 for a good one. Then take a class at a tech college so you can learn how to use it - probably another $1,000. If you get one that runs off compressed air then you will need a shop compressor, let's say $800 and will have to get your garage re-wired; $500. Then you will need to balance the tires so get a nice balancer - around $1,500-2,000 for that and of course you will have to learn how to use it as well. All in all a good use of the $20 per tire you saved buying used.

Or you could just skip all that nonsense, buy some new tires and pay someone $15 each to install them.. Tires are the single most important safety feature on the car you know. Not the first place to go cheap. Since most tire stores won't sell used tires anymore for liability purposes and junk yards don't know what to look for to find out if the tire can be safely re-sold or not, this is the route I would recommend. New tires in your size can be had for as little as $40-45 each. How to buy used car tires?if you buy tyres with rims you can mount them yourself, otherwise its impossible without a special machine and other tools. instead of buying used tyres, try buying brand tyres that are new but have a lower grade because they didn't pass the tyre test for 100 percent. they are cheaper but far better than used ones. if you do buy used ones, check for holes and wear and tear (MOT)How to buy used car tires? To get used tires, they have to be inspected very good. Make sure there is not any repairs or bulges on the sidewalls. I get my used tires mounted and balanced for $20 here, but I know the person very well.

When someones buys new tires, he takes the persons old ones and inspects the tread and all. If its decent with 50% or more tread, he sells it used later on.

Les Schwabb sells used tires, they are still pricey tho cause they are near new.How to buy used car tires? If you want to buy used tires the best way is to go to a shop that sells them. They are slightly higher than a junk yard but they also have more liability than a junk yard too. You do get at least a small bit of piece of mind that your tires are at least not going to blow out on the way home and waste your money. How to buy used car tires?I have bought great tires from an auto recyclers one set was brand new with sticker still on. but I am very careful with the tires I buy. The new tires cost me $70. with rims so there are great deal out there. but make sure to get the best deal. get the best tires you can. do not but tire that are less then 75 % tread left. Its not a deal with less then that. Good luck shopping. How to buy used car tires?Mounting tires by hand is challenging for anyone. Then there is the issue of balancing them. Check out the local tire stores. Usually they have something they got a good deal on and can help you out. Check for sales at dept. stores. Sometimes there are decent used tires out there but not often. Why pay $25 or $30 for used when you can buy new at $40 ?How to buy used car tires?if you buy from a junk u mostly get wat u pay. tires i would never buy there unless i new the carthey came off of its also hard to balance n assussere belts are good .ive done it also and costed as mush as going ahead and getting new ones.good luck i have bought some good ones there though. How to buy used car tires?no i would not get them at a junk yard look for any place that fixes flats they will have used tires for around 10 dollars an yes it can be a challenge sometimes people torque the lug nuts more than necessary an watch out for a number stamped on the tire it should tell how old it is if their more than 5 years old don't buy themHow to buy used car tires?I wouldn't buy used tires, u don't know the condition. Your own safety depends on your tires. A special machine is used to mount the tires and other one for balancing them. In other words, take your car to a tire place. How to buy used car tires?Instead try this order,

Blemished good tires with a Beauty spot.

    Seconds, Pretty good tires.

No do not try this yourself, you change a bike or motorcycle tire but not a car.How to buy used car tires?you wont be able to 'mount' them yourself unless you have the correct tyre fitting equipment and balancing equipment in your garage.

Changing/getting a new tire for my car?

I own a Honda Civic '96 EX. Walked outside today and found my rear left flat. My dad used to help me get a new tire when something was wrong, but he's no longer around. I know how to change a tire, so I just need to get a new one mounted on my rim. What should I do? Should I put the donut on and take the flat tire with rim to the store? Will a place like Kragen be able to mount and balance it without my car being there? I'm currently out of work so I'm trying to save some cash by doing some of the work myself. You guys have any suggestions?Changing/getting a new tire for my car?You may not need a new tire, it might be repairable. Put the spare on, drive the car to the nearest tire shop and see if they can fix it.Changing/getting a new tire for my car?Ok you need to break the seal of your flat tyre with another wheel rolling over it

so it presses down the tyre edge where it sealed to the wheel unless it's broken

in which case it's much easier..

Then buy 2 tire levers %26amp; a rubber mallet %26amp; using car and safety equipment and clothing

hold the flat until it's roughly Parallel with you calf's on the front of your legs.

Then putting tyre lever 1 on far inside rim (Edge of tyre where it joins rim )

start gently levering it off, helping it slip with the rubber mallet

getting two levers in when possible.

Do this until you type has come off, this

    should occur just after

    taking 180% of tyre off.

Pushing levers up and towards you, in an arc

as you go till the levers

are on top of the tyre and rim.

For a NEW start with same procedure in reverse, then use an air line (Or Gauge).

to inflate the NEW. (P.S. you may need to purchase a tube for your tyre.)

And a dynamic wheel balance on that wheel too, or travel very slowly.

    Best Wishes.

Modify jeep wrangler to run like a car?

Hi, I have a 98 jeep wrangler and live in NYC. I never go offroad and would like to modify the jeep to run like a car. I know you may say, just buy a car. but jeep looks good :)

I believe I can lower the jeep at least 6%26quot; and change the tires to 17%26quot; regular car tires. What mechanical parts I need to change? I believe the suspension systems. How much do you think it will cost? Thanks!Modify jeep wrangler to run like a car? This is ridiculous. One rule among Jeepers: NEVER lower a Jeep. They are made to sit tall and handle anything offroad. Getting a lowering kit is one of the stupidest things you can do to a Wrangler. If you want a Jeep because it looks good, it'll look like s*** if its lowered. And I don't think they even make 17%26quot; tires...those would be tiny. If you want a Wrangler keep it stock or lift it up. NOT down. You'll embarrass yourself. Even if you would lower it, it wouldnt run like a car, it'll just sit lower. Gas mileage probably won't improve, your gear ratios will be screwed up, and your car would be a disgrace to the Jeep family.Modify jeep wrangler to run like a car? You'd need to replace the whole thing.

The steering setup isn't made to handle like a car.

The design is body-on-frame, so it won't ride like a car.

The suspension isn't even vaguely designed for car-like road performance, and there ain't any fixing it with aftermarket kits.

The wheel base and track are designed for off-road capability with on-road handling and behavior as a (far behind) secondary thought.

The transmission isn't designed to be as gentle as a car, so you'll still have harsher shifts.

If you want a car, buy a car. A Wrangler is not a car and can't be made into one.Modify jeep wrangler to run like a car?It already runs like a car. It starts and drives. Do you want it to handle likea car......it wont!

If you lower it 6%26quot; you will have no suspension travel left. BUT it can be done cheap!

remove your coil springs and cut 3 wraps out of each coil. Buy 4 shorter shocks. $200 in parts

buy 5 17%26quot; wheels 5 on 41/2 bolt pattern Cost depends on what you want

    buy some low profile tires

you will also need to shorten the trac bars front and rear along with the sway bar links

    good luck

if you were in San Diego, I could do it

Modify jeep wrangler to run like a car?Just put street tires on it. Why are you going to all that trouble and expense for a truck that is 10 years old?

Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?

i just had a hub bearing and an inner tire rod changed on my car.Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?does it pull to the left or the right when you let go of the wheel? vibrations

etc. etc....Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?yes from tire wearDoes anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?I can ensure you they didnt align it if it pulls either to left or right..some mechanics just mark wear the old tie rod was set, and puts the new one on to where the old one was. Sad that there are shady mechanis out there that gives the rest of us a bad name by doing half *** work...bring it back, ask if they did align it, tell them to drive it, and request they doing again for free! If they didnt align it, get it done..cost 40 bucks....good luck !Does anybody know how to tell if your car needs to have an aignment done .?Does your car pull to the left or right? Does it shake at a higher speed? Let go of the wheel for about 100 ft. How do you change a tire???

Hi! My name is Katie and I want to know how to change a tire. I keep asking my daddy to show me...but he still hasn't. I'm 16...almost 17 and I think this is something that every girl--actually every driver should know how to do.

Please give me a step-by-step on how to do it the right way. My car is a Ford Explorer, if that makes a diffrence.......

Thanks! ~Katie!~How do you change a tire???Find your owners manual, it will tell you where to jack it up at.

Step 1. Find the flat tire... lol j/k

Step 2. take out jack, crowbar and spare tire.

Step 3. Loosen the bolts, but don't take them off yet. its easier to loosen them with the weight of the car on the tire.

Step 4. Jack up car. You need to jack it enough so that the spare tire will fit. remember the flat tire is going to be closer to the ground, so you will need to compensate.

Step 5. Take all the bolts off, remove tire.

step 6. Put new/spare tire on and put a bolt on right away to hold it in place.

I usually hand tighten the bolts, then (Don't jack it all the way down) jack it down just enough to have the weight of the car to hold the tire so it doesn't move.

Step. 7 Tighten bolts with crowbar then jack it down the rest of the way.How do you change a tire???plz help this girl get up to 200 hundred answers. Plz advertise the address to questions u answer:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?How do you change a tire???Take the car to the auto shop at your high school and ask them to show you. Jacking up a car is really easy but also very dangerous if done wrong. There should also be instructions in your manual. How do you change a tire???first be on level ground....then(if your dad wont take the presious time to show you how to the how about this CALL HIM WHEN YOU HAVE A FLAT AND LET HIM FIX IT...irresponcible parents gets me everytime....im sorry but a responcible dad should at least show you how to fix it,,,take the time to fix it himself.....drive it home on a flat and tell him oh ,,,,,i didnt know it was flat cause i dont know anything about a flat tire........How do you change a tire???You need to be very careful. First you need a jack to raise one end of the car, the side with the tire that needs to be changed. Then you need a tool, may be called a ratchet, to remove the nuts from the tire. Then the tire will be lose and you can remove it. Place new tire on, replace the nuts and lower the jack. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO TEACH YOU IN PERSON, HANDS ON FOR YOUR SAFETY. YOU NEED TO SEE HOW IT'S DONE. I WOULD NOT WANT THE CAR FALLING ON YOU.

Maybe your dad won't show you how because he's afraid that you'll get hurt. How do you change a tire???I have a 98 Explorer.... nice SUV's. OK..... open the back hatch and take out the jack and lug wrench which is in the rear left cargo compartment in the rear of the explorer.

You will have to turn the scissor jack until it reached the bottom of the explorer body, look for the lift point near the fron of the rear wheel, or rear side of the front wheel.

Turn the jack and raise the explorer up but not till the wheel come off the gound

Now loosen the lug nuts with the wrench, they will be pretty tight, you might have to use your foot to beak the nuts loose.

Now raise the explorer up till the wheel is off the ground.

Take the nuts off and pull the wheel off.

To put the new wheel on just put it on, tighten the nuts, lower the SUV until the wheel hits the ground, tighten the nuts real tight, lower the explorer to the ground and it is done. How do you change a tire???just flash your tata's any dude will change it for ya with no problems

867-5309 jenny's number a song from the 80'sHow do you change a tire???Open the trunk. Get out the jack and the whatever- it- is that you use to loosen the lug nuts. Make sure that you have a spare and that it's not flat too.

Before jacking up the car, remove the hubcap and loosen the lug nuts a little. Following the directions on the jack, place it under the recommended area of the car, and after making sure your car is in park or a gear that won't let it roll away, jack up the car until the flat tire is off the ground. Loosen and remove the lug nuts. Take off the tire, put on the spare, put the lug nuts on and tighten them. Lower the jack to let the car back down. Once it's back on the ground, tighten the lugs firmly. Replace the hubcap, put the flat tire, jack etc. back in the trunk.

Chances are, you'll never make it past the first step, because by then, a man will have stopped to help you. Accept his help graciously. Men, bless them, are better suited to this type of thing than we are, and they don't worry about breaking a nail. How do you change a tire???Katie, my grand daughter's name also.

Changing a tire is really easy once you know how to do it. The problem is, every vehicle is a little different. The jack has to be placed in the right spot, or it is dangerous to raise it.

Loosen the lug nuts before you lift the vehicle, raise the vehicle, remove the lug nuts that hold the tire on, remove the flat, replace with the spare, and reverse the process.

    If you can't convince your dad to help you with this, find a boy from auto shop class, flutter your eyelids at him, and in your sweetest voice, ask him, %26quot;Can you show me how to change a tire? You are so strong and smart!%26quot;

Trust me, he will fall all over himself to help you. It is best to actually see how it is done, and then you should be able to do it yourself. How do you change a tire???1. Remove all the lugs from the tire with a lug wrench, while the full weight of the car is on the flat one.

    2. Jack up the car high enough to pull the tire off.

    3. Pull it off.

    4. Put the spare tire on.

    5. Lower the car with the jack, just enough to keep the tire from spinning, but no lower.

    6. Put the lugs, from step 1, onto the spare.

(Don't tighten them one at a time!) Tighten each, a little at a time, until they are all reasonably tight. (Too tight for fingers, not too tight for moderate pull on lug wrench.)

    7. Take the flat tire to a tire store, ask them to fix and replace it. It shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks, else it's a rip off.

    (Better yet, call AAA!)

The basic principle is the same on all vehicles. Look in your owner's manual for anything different, and make sure you know where your jack is, and how to use it, before you get a flat! How do you change a tire???This is a really good question to ask because your right all drivers should know how to change a tire there should be instructions with the jack that came with the car.

Here is how to do it

    1. Locate the vehicles jack and lug wrench

    2. Make sure the car is parked on a level hard surface

    3. Set parking brake

    4. Loosen lug nuts (do not remove the nuts yet just loosen)

    5. locate vehicle lift point

    6. Line jack up with lift point being sure jack is on sturdy level ground

    7. jack up vehicle enough to raise tire off the ground

    8. Remove pre loosened lug nuts and tire from the wheel hub

    9. Place spare tire on the hub

    10. Make sure tire is on the hub square

    11. Snug Lug nut in a criss cross or star pattern so the wheel is pulled onto the hub evenly This is very Important

    12. Lower car back to the ground

13 Tighten Lug Nuts in a criss crossing pattern as tight as you can get it you may even want to stand on the lug wrench

    14. check that all lugs are tight

That's all that's to it but remember to use that criss cross pattern when tightening the lug nut and that you only want to loosen and tighten the nuts when the car is on the ground so not to knock the car off the jack wile you are working on it.

You should have your dad show you first before you try this just so you can see it done.

How to change flat tyre on dsidecar?

We had a 3 and a half hour journey on our royal enfield bullet and GP Manx side car and got a flat tyre in the side car. One of the spokes had penetrated the inner tube and resulted in a puncture. No one would take the tyre off! Please can we have instructions on how to change the side car inner tube and how to prevent it from happening again? Thank youHow to change flat tyre on dsidecar? Its like changing a bike tire. You're going to have to remove the wheel, break the tires bead (if necessary), and use 2 tire spoons to lift the edge of the tire over the rim. unscrew the nut on the valve stem of the tube, slip the valve stem thru the hole and pull out the tube. Put the new tube in (after the spoke has been fixed of course), tighten the nut on the valve stem. Using the spoons you pull the tire back over the rim, being sure not to pinch the tube (this may take 2 people to make the job easier). Once the tire is over the rim, blow it up about 1/2 way and bounce the tire on the ground a few times all the way around, to make sure the tube unrolls and has no pinched spots inside. Let the air out, and re inflate the tire to full pressure and re-mount it on the bike.

Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?

I drive Skoda Octavia with alloy wheels. So far I would just leave my car for the service check at a Skoda workshop, have my tyres changed when necessary, and just pay the bill, praying that I got good quality for the right price. However I am wondering how you choose the right set of tyres for your car with so many different brands and types, what you look for when assesing the quality. When you shop around - how do you compare your Dunlop in one workshop to your Michelin in another workshop to see which offers the best value for money? Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?Yes... via a process of elimination, first are you a high or low mileage driver?

If high mileage, might be prudent to go for a %26quot;premium brand%26quot; Michelen, Dunlop, etc as they (usually) will last longer.

If low mileage, then consider a mid brand or cheaper brand.

Most tyre manufacturers have their fingers in the pie at both ends so to speak as they not only own the premium brand range, but although marketed under a totally different name and no association to them, often also own the company who produce cheaper tyres! They do not want to associate one with the other for fear of confusing the market.

If you are a low mileage user and buy premium brand tyres, they could actually crack with age before the tyre tread wears out. So it is a personal balance between the options.

If you purchase your tyres via the dealer - you WILL pay more for them.

Get a quote anyway (at the end of the day you will see how much you have saved and that will make you feel good!). Then spend a Saturday morning going to different National tyre companies as well as local independant firms - they should be the most competitive and friendly as their business depends on you the customer - ask them all for advice and their best prices on top, mid and lower end brands. Most important ask if the prices is all inclusive: they sometimes don't add on the VAT, balance, valve and environmental disposal charges!

If the best quote does not come from the most convenient or %26quot;best%26quot; company in your opinion - go back to the one you liked best and see if they will match the price. It is a very competitive business and if you are after a set, there is usually room for manourve.

Take time to evaluate your findings and then book with whoever you felt offered the best all round service and price.

Good luck! Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?tires..Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?Shop on the internet to get a price. Phone your local tyre fitter and ask if they can match the price. Keep phoning around until the price is comparative to the internet.

Tyre choice unless it檚 off road or AP.... as long as it equates to the manufacturers specification there is little difference in quality. Main difference is the miles achieved and road noise. Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?check this out

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/blogs/editoCan you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?try tirerack.com easy steps to new tires. tires are sold in accordance to weather, speed and handling. Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?Wet or dry -- hard or soft

the answer is %26quot; get a grip %26quot;Can you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?all offers should be value for money i would go for all weather tiresCan you advise me on how to make an informed purchase of car tyres?take a note of what size tyres you have on the car for example 185/65/r14 this is on the side walls of all youe tyres, and they will be all the same size.

Now some tyres are T rated these are for normal everyday driving, some are H rated which are for the lunatics, sorry those who like to faster than most.

Now sit down with the local phone directory and look up tyre suppliers and fitters, have a phone round you will be surprised at the differances in prices, depending on how many you need at a time like i needed two new tyres for my car phoned around got them for 30 each balanced and fitted at a local tyre dealer, ( should have been 36.50 but asked if they would do them for me as i was paying cash and sure enough they said yes, there is always a bit of lee-way with garages, if you don't ask you don't get, but don't go to far with it though.)

Most garages know what prices are being offered elsewhere as this makes good compitition but some will over quote so when you say you can get them cheaper they will look like giving you a bigger discount, large companies like Kwick Fit pay medium wages with commision on sales so the people there tend not to give much discount as it comes off thier commision, so there now you are informed on buying tyres.

Does he actually like me or is he just playing?

Theres this guy who is quite a bit older than me and we get on very well but I'm not sure how much of this is just him enjoying a younger girl liking him/getting a younger girl to like him.

If I'm doing something and I look up he will be looking at me and then he smiles and then holds my gaze or looks away. Or if he says something to someone else which is funny he looks at me as if to see that I'm listening and then he looks away. I will make a noise to show I found it funny and then he wil look at me and smile and hold my gaze.

Or if he's on the phone to a friend he will look at me as if to check that I'm listening and then smile at me if I look at him...and then he like kinda hesitates as if he's forgotten what he was saying...or he will like talk to me as he's talking to his friend, like his friend was talking about changing car wheels and he said aha girls can't change tyres and then looked at me and smiled and I was like ahem, yes they can..and then he was like to his friend oh sorry, apparently they can! and then he like carries on talking to me while on the phone to his friend.

We have never talked about other girls/guys..but we have literally talked about everything else!

He did something a but stupid and I was like aha you muppet, and he was like ah that's rude (joking) your going to get it from me today..and then laughed... And he will compliment me on things I do..and we have like inside jokes and stuff like that..

but I'm not sure if its just because I'm younger that he acts like this. I'm naturally quite flirty and a laughy type of person and confident so I'm not sure if he just says the things beccause he knows I can take a joke...but then like when he says somethings he goes really serious... :s

help!Does he actually like me or is he just playing?Interesting. I would like to know your age and his to give an accurate and fair answer. Ages would make a world of difference.Does he actually like me or is he just playing?Wait how old are YOU exactly...like high school student / college or what..

cuz if its a 10year diff he might just think of u as a lil sis...

considering if he was in uni or college and u were in hs..

maybe he has feelings fo ryou...but he's uncomfortable b/c of hte age diff...but then again..if that was the case he might try to pull away from you cuz he'd be uncomfortable and unsure of his feelings...but i think he treats u just as friend/lil sis
