A College Degree?

Ok, my boyfriend and I have been arguing for nearly a year now about getting a college degree. He graduated from high school and immediately entered into the work force, hard, hard labor. He works for 9 to 14 hours a day for $7.50 an hour. He absolutely refuses to get a college degree, he says that a college degree is not in demand these days. I can't seem to get it through to him that it is really important to get a degree now. What can I tell him to convince him that a college degree will better benefit him? I mean, he is working VERY hard labor, he is on his feet long hours changing car tires and working on trucks on saturdays. I just think that going to college for him would really help him succeed. If you don't agree then thats ok, I just need some advice on how to get through to him.

Thanks!A College Degree?well for starters you can't make anybody do anything they don't want to what you can do to try to persuade him to think differently is ask him if he's really happy doing what he does and does he think it will provide for him well in the future. obviously he likes working with cars he can become a certified automotive tech and make more money with that and it's not a degree it's a certificate which means it will take less time then a degree but is still a good alternative go online and print out some job descriptions similiar to what he does now that make more money and show them to him. My boyfriend is a hardwood floor specialist and he makes like 12-15 dollars an hour and he doesn't have a degree. Good LuckA College Degree? You dont have to have a college degree.

I dont have a college degree. I started working right after high school, and I make 60k/year.

My best friend does not have a college degree, and he makes $100k/year

Another friend of mine went to college (Finance) and he cant get a job, and is up to his eyeballs in debt.

Some people are meant for college... others are not. If he is not meant for college, he will waste tens of thousands of dollars, and end up dropping out with lots of loan debt.

Maybe he could look at some trade schools. I know a lot of people that make extrmely good livings without a college degree.
