were supposed to write a speech on anything we want and i'm writing on how the education system is flawed :)What do you wish you learned in high school?The education system is flawed because there are too many different subjects and concepts to teach within a certain amount of time. Believe it or not, high school is the easy part of learning. If you struggle with say maths, its because you didn't learn well enough in primary. Technically, if you never learn how to add (addition) you will not understand subtraction, multiplication etc. Every concept of learning is built upon the foundations of previous learning. Therefore, if you miss a concept you will struggle with every other concept related to that in the future.
Things such as learning how to raise a child, changing a car tyre etc are great and important to know, however, it its a lesson life can teach you and i don't feel deserves the time/weight over learning how to manage money, how to get a job or how to read a bank statement. these things are skimmed over in high schools and require you to know as soon as you leave. If any education system is flawed its the primary schools.What do you wish you learned in high school?How to study for a test. I've learned more about engineering years after I graduated, and I would've entered the field then had I known then what I know now. Unfortunately, my school just told me engineering would be endless homework problems - problems that I could do, but no one bothered telling me why I should. They purged passion and relevance from the curriculum, and both are necessary if you're going to put in the effort to learn.What do you wish you learned in high school?How to cook and sew and do those small things that you take for granted your mom will do :)
Also, how to write a good note while listening to a lecture.
Time management would be nice too, but I think that's more something you need to learn on your own...
