My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?

Just had the tires changed. I did drive over a big chunk of snow/ice that gave me a nice jolt and when I got onto the highway soon after, i was accelerating on the ramp and the car being to shake terribly! What is it and how expensive will it be?My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?it could be a broken or loose motormount. My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?You might have broken a belt in the tire which causes it to be unbalanced (like washing machine with clothes stuck on one side). Usually broken belts can be felt at lower speeds too, do you feel the car doing a slight wobble at lower speeds? Breaking belts aren't that hard. Everytime you side swipe a curb while parking (1km/hr) you can break it just that easy.

I am the king of broken belts in tires. I have about 2-4 every year. One important thing, dont drive so fast to where its shaking that violently. Every single time I have pushed my car with a broken belt to where its shaking that bad, the tire busted on me on the freeway. You might want to get that checked out first, that is the #1 cause of the problem you describe. I can't think of anything else that would cause the car to shake in such a short period of time.

Driving it with a slight wobble should be ok, just dont drive too fast to where it shakes so bad that it feels like the car is going to fall apart, thats usually when they bust on you.My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?If you bent the rim this would happen, if you caused the wheel balance to be out this would cause this, id you damaged the outter tie rods this would cause this. Check all this and then repair. My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?You might need a rotation, your tires might be losing air, you might need for your tires to get re-balanced.

My car did that, it was a mixture of the balance %26amp;%26amp; my tires losing air.My car begins to shake violently when I accelerate past 80km/hr. What's going on? ?Usually shaking occurs when a tire is out of balance. It could also indicate a temporary imbalance due to ice or snow on the rim.
