Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?

Two nights ago my tire went flat. It was around midnight and i was actually able to get a few people out to try and help me change it. I don't know much about changing tires. After the men got my car up and my lug nuts off none of them could remove the actual tire. They tried all tugging at once, they tried hitting it from behind, using a hammer and a board. They even tried kicking the hell out of it. the only thing they could tell me was that it must be rusted on. I just got the tires put on my car in April. I have a 2001 mitsubishi. The rims on my car are old because my ex husband well... he put them on. I need help knowing how to get them off. yesterday was supposed to be my first day at this new job I've been trying to get for awhile now. They told me they could hold off til Thursday, but after that my spot was gone. Please help!!Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?Hi jess, have someone spray some WD40 all around the studs where the lug nuts screw onto so it seeps into the rim where. Any rust inhibitor will work if you dint have WD40. But once you load the studs up with the Fluid, the you need to smack the center of the rim and keep tapping so the fluid does its job. If needed, then begin to hit the rear of the rim to get that wheel off, it will take some time, but it will come off. This works for me every time i ran into this problem. Be patient.

Good luck.......Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?i had the same problem. drench the lugs and the center with pb blaster. if that dont work, dry it off and get a butane torch. try to burn off the rust. and then try to heat just the rim. dont let the flame hit the lugs too much. heat around the lugs. then try to pull the tire offDoes anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?same happened to me...i even took nuts off and drove it...wheel would not come off..had to get flat bed truck to repair shop...they hit with hammer,,big hammer,,no good,,,finally took torch to it,,,heated for 5 min and hammered the heII out of it...i never saw anything like in in 40 yrs of driving..Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?tire shop bigger hammer only way spray it with wd40 maybe i see it all the time tire guy 35 yrs have car towed to a tire shop have a tire service guy come to fix itDoes anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?spray up the lugs and center hub with penetrating oil, pb blaster, kroil, liquid wrench. wd 40 is not a good rust penetrating oil. then loosen the lug nuts a couple turns out, and slowly drive the car steering hard to the right and left. a parking lot would be best to do this in. you only need to go about 2 miles per hour, the load will help loosen the wheel. if that does not work, your best option would be to call a tow truck for road service. they will pobably charge anywhere from 40-90 dollars.Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?Corrosion builds up between the rim and the drum or disk. The only way to get past this corrosion is by striking the rim from the rear at different points. Raise and support the vehicle in a secure manner, then as the wheel is slowly rotated strike the edge of the rim near the tire with a heavy hammer until the rim breaks free. Make sure you protect aluminum rims to prevent damage they break before they bend that is why the men who tried to help you used a board. If you can afford it I would suggest you call a tire shop to help you out they deal with such problems daily. Clean and lubricate surfaces with an anti-seize compound to prevent farther seizing.Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?I had this problem on my Mirage when I bought used steel wheels. There are TWO SIZES of the center hole that fits over the protruding hub. You can put a wheel with a bigger hole on a smaller hub, but really can't put a small hole wheel on a big hub without forcing it. I had to use a half-round file to get these wheels to fit. Probably not RUSTED on, but FORCED on. A small propane torch on the hub area might expand the wheel there enough to free it. Loosen but do not completely remove the lug nuts. Jack up the car and support it with stands, heat the hub area, protect the wheel with a 1x4 board at least a foot long so you can hold onto it, and strike the wheel from behind with a 10-lb hammer. The lug nuts will keep the wheel from flying when it pops free.Does anyone know how to get a rusted tire off?Does the tire have a big hole in it? Can you use a can of flat tire repair to get it inflated again.

The BEST way I know of to get the tire loose is this, if you can get it inflated. If you can't, it will probably damage the tire.

Put the lug nuts back on, but leave them two turns loose. Drive the car in a hard zig-zag fashion for a hundred feet of so. Get out and check the lug nuts. If any of them are tight, the wheel is coming loose. If they aren't loose, do it again. This method uses the whole weight of the car to help pop it loose.

Grease the area between the wheel and mounting area when you put the tire back on.
